Products containing chemicals to be avoided

Cleaning products contain chemicals that should be avoided

When we wash our floors, plates or clothes, we tend to use chemicals. They could easily be replaced with natural products such as lemons, baking powder or vinegar.

They were used in the past all the time and still work great today. We especially recommend them if you have children in the house.

Every day we come in contact with various chemicals that unbalance the pH of our body. However, the products in which they are used as an ingredient apparently have a pH of 5.5, similar to the skin. Be careful: only natural products are really healthy.

Many of the products we use daily contain toxic ingredients, heavy metals, oil or aluminum derivatives. They can enter the body through pores or mucous membranes and eventually lead to serious diseases.

In the short term, they can cause allergies, cysts, skin problems, etc.

Natural alternatives

Fortunately, there are many natural alternatives to all of these chemicals. You have nothing to lose if you try them:

  • Shampoos: All the interesting flavors that shampoos have are due to the chemicals from which they are prepared. This way, our hair will look good temporarily. The long-term effect of these shampoos will be harmful.
  • Soaps: Like detergents, soaps contain ingredients that can damage our skin, drying it out and causing it to age prematurely. We advise you to replace the usual soap with glycerin, coconut soap or to prepare your own soap at home.
  • Toothpaste: The toothpaste we find on the market today alters the pH and natural bacterial content of the mouth. For this reason, we recommend that you use 100% natural toothpastes or prepare your own.
  • Deodorants: Most deodorants contain aluminum, a heavy metal that is very harmful to health. It can cause neurodegenerative diseases. It is especially harmful to women, due to the small distance between the underarm and the breast, and can lead to the formation of cysts.
  • Moisturizers:  and nourishing skin lotions are prepared with paraffin and other petroleum products, but also with very harmful parabens. We advise you to opt for 100% natural products. These include coconut oil, argan oil, almond oil, sesame oil, shea butter, etc.

Women’s hygiene products

Women’s hygiene has seen many innovations in recent decades. As examples we mention the invention of tampons and internal absorbents. Many of these products actually contain dangerous chemicals, such as bleach.

Instead of traditional absorbents, we advise you to try healthier alternatives, such as menstrual cups or tampons made of fabrics or organic materials. Both options are reusable and, although they require cleaning, they are much healthier and more economical in the long run.

Cosmetics

Cosmetics are often toxic, containing harmful ingredients that allow them to last longer and have long-lasting effects. These are heavy metals or petroleum derivatives, among others.

Instead of these products full of chemicals, buy cosmetics from health food stores. Try to use only mascara prepared with vegetable dyes, lipstick prepared from vegetable oils and natural dyes or eye pencils with Kohl and Kajal.

Some of these alternative products may be slightly more expensive than conventional chemical-containing variants. However, we must put our health first and make some sacrifices.

We hope you enjoyed reading this article about chemicals we should avoid. We also hope that you will opt for much healthier options in the future!
