Here are some options you can use to clean your beetle house before it becomes a serious problem.

Boric acid and milk

This natural insecticide is prepared using boric acid, powdered sugar and a little milk, the  latter having the role of attracting beetles.

For kitchen beetles, powdered sugar is irresistible. Boric acid prevents them from defecating, so their digestive system explodes.

• 1 tablespoon boric acid
• 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
• 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

• Mix boric acid and sugar in a glass container.
• Add a little milk and mix until you get a semi-solid paste.

• Shape some balls the size of chickpeas and place them in the areas frequented by beetles.
• Don’t forget to put a few outside to keep them out of the house.
• Keep the remedy out of the reach of children or pets. 

Boric acid with egg

Another way to use boric acid to kill beetles is by combining it with egg and powdered sugar. This product causes a deadly constipation that can kill an entire nest of beetles in a short period of time.

• 3 cups of boric acid with a concentration of 100%

• 1 cup sugar
• 3 eggs

Instructions

• Boil the eggs for 12-15 minutes, until the yolk hardens.
• When they are ready, peel them and separate the egg white from the yolk.
• For this preparation, all you need is egg yolks.
• Grind them with a fork and mix them with sugar and boric acid.
• Dissolve the sugar to form a thick paste.
• Form small balls and put them around the house.
• Place them in dark, damp areas, such as closets, pantry, or bathroom.
• This poison is not dangerous to the touch, but it is advisable to keep it away from children or pets.

Boric acid, baking soda and corn starch

The combination of boric acid, baking soda, cornstarch and a few other ingredients is lethal to cockroaches. The sugar attracts them, and the other ingredients eliminate them permanently.

• 2 tablespoons boric acid
• 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
• 2 tablespoons baking soda
• 2 tablespoons plaster
• 2 tablespoons cornstarch

Instructions

• Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and form several tablets.
• Put them in the corners of the house or in other places where insects gather.

Borax kills kitchen beetles

Borax is usually used in the preparation of homemade soaps or other cleaning products. In its natural state, this product kills beetles, as it damages their shell.

• 1 cup borax
• 1 pair of gloves

Instructions

• Put on a pair of gloves and sprinkle borax in the corners of the room or in other areas populated by beetles.
• Be sure to cover cabinets, bathrooms and drains.
