Generally, bread is made from flour, yeast, salt and water, these being the main ingredients of the dough which is then baked in the oven.

You have to keep in mind that there are many myths about bread. The most common belief is that “bread is full of carbohydrates and makes you fat.”

Although the carbohydrate content of the chemical composition of flour is an indisputable fact, it does not mean that it has negative effects on the body.

In fact, carbohydrates are, in turn, necessary (more or less, depending on the metabolism of each of us) for the proper functioning of the body.

At the same time, it should be noted that no food is composed entirely of carbohydrates. Food chemistry doesn’t work that way. We must be very careful about all the myths that mislead us.

That being said, we invite you to discover how to prepare homemade bread and get as close as possible to the objective reality of each dish we recommend.

Nutritional value of wheat flour

In order not to give credence to myths, you need to know what wheat flour really is and what benefits it can offer you. We often see on TV, hear or read that “we must avoid wheat flour”, but often the truth is distorted or even hidden.

Wheat bran and probiotics provide an excellent nutritional intake. These two elements are part of the quality of flour and many other foods.

In addition, wheat is the optimal cereal for the production and nutritional intake of bread. It would not be very possible to make homemade bread without bran and wheat flour (with or without yeast).

In this sense, the only thing you have to be very careful about is the quantities. 200 g of bread is not a health hazard or figure,  if you have a healthy lifestyle and a balanced diet.

If, on the other hand, you have very bad eating habits, it is true that bread is not the best option for you.
